Mitch helps capable leaders face what is actually happening, make honest decisions, and turn insight into the habits and ownership that move an organization.

His work is practical, custom, and Socratic. He does not enter an organization assuming he already knows the answer. He listens carefully, asks the questions that help people see clearly, and helps leaders translate their best judgment into what the organization actually does.

Professional Background

Mitch came to this work by way of two earlier careers: civil engineering first, then nearly twenty years as a pastor. Engineering taught him how systems behave. Pastoring taught him how people do, how to sit with them in hard moments, listen carefully, and tell the truth kindly. Boardrooms need both.

He has worked with leaders in publicly traded, private, cooperative, nonprofit, and family-influenced organizations across electric utilities, agriculture, technology, manufacturing, mining, food, engineering, and other complex settings.

Lapis Partners is the expression of a lifelong burden to help leaders, teams, and boards humbly and courageously take real responsibility for the organizations they lead.
